Winter Clothing Drive for the Homeless

As part of an effort to positively impact the community, the youth of Jackson Memorial Baptist Church are now collecting winter clothing for the homeless oif Portsmouth. These donations will benefit Portsmouth's homeless outreach program, Oasis. Donations greatly appreciated include socks, coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, and carry-on bags. These items may be turned into Jackson Memorial Baptist Church on Bruce Road, on Sundays as well as the church office from 8 to 3, Monday through Friday. Donations will be collected through November.

Please help out with this if you can. These people know what it is to truely be cold, and they also know what it is to be thankful. Most of the homeless I have met through volunteering are some of the most gracious and thankful people that i have met in my entire life. All they need is compassion and encouragement, no matter their situtation.
